– 1/ The story :

Founded in 2008 by two fashion designers Penter Yip and Vikki Yau, Fashionary is the world’s 1st fashion sketchbook which was tailor-made for fast figure sketching and quick references.

It contains a mini fashion dictionary and pages with an innovative type of figure templates, which the designers can sketch out their outfits without thinking about the figure’s proportion.

The sketchbook produced a big hit for the industry and quickly became the sketchbook for various worldwide brand and design teams to speed up their production.

– 2/ The book :

Concept : Semi-blank pages with barely seen figure templates you can use as a guide for your sketches. The templates are subtle so you can also use this page as you normally would with any blank page.

A glossary of almost everything related to apparels, shoes, and accessories : Body measurements, OuterwearTop, Shirt, Dress Bottom, Swimwear, Lingerie/Underwear, Collar, Neckline, Lapel, Shoe, Fabric information, Seam & Stitches, Typography, Posture, Presentation, board sample, Catwalk schedule, Calendar and other informative pages including the list of brands and fashion weeks around the world.

– 3/ Panel figure :

Blended figure templates are printed on each folded panels for fast sketching. One side is the front figure while the side figure at the other side which allow fashion designers to sketch in different angles! You can bring along your whole collection anywhere in pocket size or stick it on wall in an organized way!

Overall, I am in love with this sketchbook. I love the simple design. It looks very sleek and professional. You can use this to sketch planned outfits, but I’ll bet this would be perfect for fashion design students who need to make quick sketches for school.
