28/10/2016 – After my last list with finest artist acrylic paints, I had to write a second one with Students’ Quality Acrylics Paints. We can buy acrylics in 2 grades: artists’ quality or students’ quality.
Do not panic! I’ve checked the most popular Student Acrylic Paints for you. In partnership with GreatArt (London) this following list will help you find the right choice amongst all the available ranges.
GOOD TO KNOW:
They are particularly suitable for beginner artists, students, schools, hobby artists or for leisure painting and decorating. They have good pigmentation (lower pigment load than Artist Grade) and perfectly adhere to surfaces which are clean, dry and for all fat-free surfaces
Acrylic paints are water-based and contain no solvents or unpleasant odors. Water-soluble, mixable meaning infinite shades can be created. Colours are opaque, semi-opaque or transparent depending on the pigment used.
They are mixable and dry to a waterproof, hard elastic film. These colours offer good resistance to light and to ageing.
A student-quality acrylic paint is often useful for frescoes or large areas. Often presented in large packs: pots, jars, bottles but also tubes. Excellent value for money, all colours within the range are usually the same price.
